Cleland Cycles was set up by designer and cycling enthusiast Geoff Apps in the early 1980's. Read more about Geoff Apps.
Geoff was developing his bikes at the same time as Gary Fisher, Charlie Kelly, Tom Richey et al were customising their clunkers and tearing down the Repack course. Read more about the history of Cleland cycles.
Images, and hopefully before too long, details of the bikes can be viewed here.
I'm intending to post as many images of Cleland bikes as I can to the Cleland Cycles flickr set. You can see a slideshow below or visit the set on the flickr website.
This year's annual reunion ride will be on Sunday 6th December. Starting from the Langdon tea rooms in Wendover at around 11am.
Geoff has been nominated as a pioneer of the sport of Mountain Biking. Voting takes place in July. Full details of the nomination can be found on the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame website here.
